Nationwide Security Guard Services
A guard post is a person standing in one place for eight hours, which is either the most valuable thing on your property or the most expensive furniture you own. The difference is almost never the individual. It is whether anyone wrote down what the post is for, and whether anyone checks.
Posted, Not Just Present
Before an officer works a shift for you, we agree what the post actually does — who gets challenged, who gets let through, what gets logged, who gets called and in what order. That document is the job. Without it you are paying an hourly rate for someone to improvise on your behalf, and improvisation is what turns an incident into a lawsuit.
Where a Staffed Post Earns Its Cost
Guards beat patrols and cameras wherever the value comes from someone being there continuously — controlling a doorway, reading a room, or being the person a visitor talks to first.
Lobbies & Reception
Visitor screening, badging and the first impression your building makes. Half of this post is hospitality and the other half is access control.
Gates & Access Control
Vehicle and contractor entry, deliveries and credential checks at the one point everything has to pass through.
Retail & Commercial
Storefronts, centers and mixed-use property, where presence at the door changes behavior before anything reaches a manager.
Events & Venues
Entry points, bag lines, back-of-house and crowd flow — often alongside detection teams for larger events.
Residential & HOA
Gatehouses, lobbies and amenity areas, where the officer becomes a known face to residents rather than a stranger in a uniform.
Temporary & High-Risk
Terminations, hearings, disputes and short-term coverage while a situation cools down or a permanent plan gets built.
What an Officer Does — and What They Don’t
What they do
Control access — check credentials, log visitors and contractors, and turn away what should not be inside.
Deter by being visible and attentive, which handles most of what would otherwise become an incident.
Document. Shift logs and incident reports written the same day, in a form that still makes sense a year later.
Act as the liaison when police, fire or EMS arrive — the person who knows the building and can point.
What they don’t
Function as law enforcement. No arrests, no investigations, no pursuit off your property.
Carry a weapon unless the post specifically calls for it and the officer holds the licensing and endorsement the state requires.
Absorb unrelated duties. A post that quietly becomes reception, maintenance and parcel handling stops being security.
Replace working locks, lighting and cameras. An officer compensates for weak physical security; they do not repair it.
How We Staff a Post
Define the post
What it is protecting, what hours actually matter, and what the officer is expected to handle alone versus escalate. Most overspending in this industry is coverage bought for hours where nothing is at risk.
Write and approve post orders
Written instructions covering access rules, escalation, emergency procedure and documentation. You approve them, your counsel reviews them where it matters, and the officer is trained to them.
Assign consistent officers
The same people wherever possible, licensed for the work they are doing, with credentials documented to you. An officer who knows your building and your staff is worth more than one who arrives cold each week.
Supervise the shift
Check-ins and supervisor visits, because an unsupervised post is where service quality quietly declines and neither of us finds out until something happens.
Report and review
Shift and incident reports delivered to you, and a periodic look at whether the post is still matched to the risk. Sometimes that conversation ends with us recommending fewer hours.
